I often get asked where I like to shop for my work clothes. To be honest, I am kind of all over the place but as I have advanced in my career, and while I try to condense my wardrobe, I do my best to invest in pieces that I can wear both in the office and out. As someone who works in sports, my work wardrobe can be high-rise ready one day, and athleisure the next, but one thing is always consistent: I want to look presentable and be comfortable for whatever the day will bring.
I am not sure if it is feeling the “need” to keep up, or the exhaustion I feel when I try, but lately I have come to appreciate simplicity. Being a mom, things are busy! And I do not want to have to spend too much time evaluating an outfit or deciding what to wear. Over the last year, I have spent time really trying to minimize what is in my closet. I want to invest in nicer pieces that will last longer with an occasional lest costly option to help fight the urge to be “trending.” This is going to take some time to get used to, I won’t lie, but I honestly have had so much fun creating looks with items that have been in my closet!
