This weekend we went hiking with some friends close to the Louisiana/Mississippi state line. We brought the dogs and let them run around (getting extremely dirty) and enjoyed the cool weather. We hiked a park called Tunica Hills which is a hidden gem not too far from the city. There is a beautiful trail that takes you down to a creek and once you get there, you can take multiple routes to see up to five different waterfalls. It was so beautiful and not what I expected at all!
I knew I would most likely be getting my feet wet while chasing Murphy around, so I decided to wear my Hunter Boots. They were perfect for the hike because they were comfortable to walk in, and kept my feet dry all day! The temperature was much cooler than we expected it to be (with little sunshine) so I actually had to layer up. This flannel shirt from Madewell is a go-to of mine for comfort and warmth. Throwing the utility vest (from J Crew Factory) on top was the perfect addition, giving me pockets to hold small items we needed for the hike.
As you can see above, Murphy was FILTHY and soaking wet after the hike. It was well worth it though because he absolutely loved running around, swimming and exploring new areas. We will definitely be adding Tunica Hills to our list of things we like to do in Louisiana, and will hopefully be able to go back soon!
