Fall Layers

Well it is officially October, which would make you think it is chilly.  Unfortunately that is not the case in Louisiana.  It is still warm, with random “cold fronts” that tease us and make us want more.  This weekend it is supposed to get down in to the 60s at night (yay!) so I wanted to talk about some basic fall layers that will help keep you warm, but also not be too much during the day.

Our weather is so in-between right now, with 90 degree temperatures one day, and 70 degrees the next, sometimes I never know how to plan!  It will be very warm during the day, and cool at night so I would find myself unprepared while we are transitioning into the evening.  This is why I LOVE fall layers!  Being able to shed a layer in the warm weather and still leave your outfit in tact is important to think about while getting dressed for the day.  Pairing a sweater and a blazer, or adding a vest to an outfit is fun and makes me feel cozy.  With that in mind I also want to look good when I have to take the vest (or outerwear) off.  Light sweaters and jackets help to create that perfect layered look, helping it feel like fall as well.

I have to be honest, I am loving burgundy right now.  I was looking in my closet the other day trying decide what to wear and noticed that the size of my burgundy/red section (yep its color coded) has grown significantly.  It is funny because I used to not be a fan of red, but I am always willing to try new things!  This blazer is a favorite of mine and helps me create both casual and work appropriate looks.  The color is beautiful and the best part is that it is from Forever 21!  Yay for a good find!

When it gets really cold, I can change out my heels for boots, but for now the boyfriend jean helps create a fall look without getting overheated.  I love pairing my boyfriend jeans with heels because you typically would not think about dressing up ripped jeans, right?  But I LOVE it!  This pair I found is so comfortable and were a great price.  I love the length and how they fit in all the right places.  I have a feeling this look will be on repeat until I can break out my boots, but I am completely ok with it!
