This weekend we hosted our very first “Friendsgiving” dinner party. If you are unfamiliar with the term, “Friendsgiving,” it is basically an excuse to have another Thanksgiving meal surrounded by your friends. We gathered together, ate, shared stories and took time to appreciate the friends we have in our lives. I am so thankful for these relationships and loved being able to show them how grateful I am for them!
Before we officially decided to host this dinner, I began to imagine how I would want my Thanksgiving table to look. I LOVE neutral décor, including the gold touches that would add that extra pop. A lot of the décor I used is actually from outside, and I simply added gold spray paint to dress it up. I love being able to be creative with stuff like this!
For the place setting I knew I wanted simple and classic. I was describing the look of the plates I wanted to a friend and to my surprise she actually had the exact setting! (Again, so thankful for my friends!) I decided I wanted to tie in some of the birchwood vases we used in our wedding so I found the birch place mats on Etsy and they turned out beautiful! I added classic linen napkins from Pottery Barn and a custom pumpkin (also from Etsy) to finish it off!
For the center of my table I decided to start with items I had around the house, or stored from the wedding. Like I said, we used the birch wood vases on our tables at our wedding and I have had them stored in the garage ever since. Because I hate to see their beauty wasted, I broke out two of them, and found some beautiful greenery and neutral flowers to fill them with. I also have a bag of deer antlers that I have used as décor in the house, so I added some to the mantle (seen on Instagram) and to the table. Once the larger items were set out, I filled in with my white and gold pumpkins, pine cones and some magnolia leaf garland I snagged on sale at Hobby Lobby!
