Thanksgiving Tablescape

If you are anything like me, you love to play hostess. I find SO much joy in hosting our friends and family in our home and look forward to dinner parties, birthday celebrations and ALL of the things. With that being said, you can imagine that when it comes to holidays, I am on another level. Last year, we hosted my dad and some of our friends for a Thanksgiving to remember (we were also celebrating Miles being in my belly) and it was perfect. While Miles is still little, this year we will be venturing to see the fam for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but you should know that I have already started making plans for each holiday next year. (Hopefully my child does not start to think his momma is extra…because I am sure I will be.)

So on that note, I figured I would round up some of my favorite ideas for a Thanksgiving tablescape. I will not be decorating my own table this year, but I put together three potential tables here for you guys! Basically, I love a good neutral table. With most of my holiday decor, I like to invest in pieces that can be used for more than that one day. For example, I prefer to find a beautiful solid stone plate versus a red and green Christmas situation. The stone plate will make it much further than the Christmas plate will in my house, so I apply that to all of my holiday dining needs. This same theory applies to my table linens, centerpieces and drink ware. There are things you can do to highlight the theme, but in my opinion, your plate does not have to say “gobble gobble.”

Table Number One

So for this first tablescape, you can see things are very neutral. I love the warm tones in the wood charger and thought that paired nicely with the dried grapewood branch. For a long table, you could use two grapewood branches and add pumpkins in between if you really wanted that fall touch. I also love this magnolia garland for a touch of green. I chose the magnolia because again, it is versatile and could be used again at Christmas, or even just on a random Tuesday! Working in the gold accents in the candlestick holders and napkin rings, ads just the right amount of pop to your table, but still keeps thing very classy. So where I went a little out of my comfort zone here is with the napkins. This plaid option is PERFECT for fall so I loved the idea of adding these colors to this tablescape. Again, you could easily use these for a fall dinner party, not necessarily Thanksgiving, but they bring a ton of warmth and coziness to the decor!

Table Number Two

Again, I am very chill with my decor. This is my ALL neutral option which is pretty much my tablescape year round. These stone plates from Pottery Barn are my favorite (I have the black already) and I love how you can mix and match them. Pairing the cream plate with the gunmetal silverware creates a drastic contrast that I love, but napkin is the nice in-between that ties them together. I also am obsessed with these dainty napkin rings because they remind me of jewelry I would wear so naturally, they should be on my table. Finally, use wood accents for your appetizer plates and your apps can become your centerpiece! Have you ever tried to get creative with a charcuterie board? Well this is your chance to add some beautiful color to your table. Mix you cheese, meats and fruits at each of the table, surrounding a nice neutral centerpiece and you’re done!

Table Number Three

For this tablescape, I decided to add in a few “Thanksgiving” themed things. The pumpkins are actually a flameless candle which could help set the mood on your table. Mix in a couple of these and you add both light and a pop of color. And speaking of color, I decided to try the burgundy napkin on this table and I love how it came together! Burgundy is my go-to fall color and it pairs nicely with the blush plate and copper silverware. Finally, the little turkey napkin rings were too cute to pass up. Themed, but not too over-the-top I think the turkeys are the perfect touch!

Hopefully you found this at least a little bit helpful in planning your Thanksgiving table. I am sure that whatever you choose to decorate with, or however you choose to set your table will be perfect, as long as you are surrounded by your family and friends…socially distant of course. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
