Casual Dresses

This summer I had a girls weekend with my mom and grandma in Atlanta.  We shopped, ate good food and just spent time together, which we do not get to do often.  Before we went, I researched multiple places to put on our “to-do” list, one of which was stopping at The Atlanta Goat Farm.  This unique setting has been used for filming purposes (including The Hunger Games films), as well as for wedding, engagement and family photography.  It is a place where local artists can come to gain inspiration and showcase their work in the performance/exhibit spaces.  This was such a cool spot, providing a rustic and artsy back drop for photos.  With this outdoor venue and other outdoor shopping adventures, it was important to pack in preparation for the hot temperatures.  I find casual dresses to be the first thing I plan on for two reasons; 1: they do not take up too much room in my suitcase, and 2: I can dress them up or down simply by changing my shoes or adding accessories.

I do believe that classic, easy dresses are important to have in your closet.  Whether it be a solid colors, bold prints, long dresses or shift styles, dresses are easy to change up.  They also make great transition pieces when going from season to season.  Adding a jacket and booties can create a totally different look, giving you more opportunities to wear your favorite dresses all year round.

This dress from Target is a favorite of mine because of how light and airy it is.  Not only was it a great price, but the fit is perfect.  I wore it with sandals and heels while in Atlanta, giving it both a casual and dressy look.  As we get closer to the fall, adding a jean jacket in the cooler temperatures will allow me to wear it even longer, adding yet another look.  I also love the pleated detail and color of this dress.  Blush was a go-to color choice of mine this summer so this dress was a no brainer when I found it at Target.  The softness of the color mixed with the flow of the dress made me feel pretty and feminine.  I used to avoid pink at all costs, but I just can’t say no to blush!  Target still has this dress available in multiple colors (and it’s on sale!), so I would snag one before they are gone!
