It is almost Valentine’s Day which means the stores are filled with heart shaped boxes, large teddy bears and an unlimited supply of red roses. While I think it is important to celebrate your significant other all year round, Valentine’s Day creates a great opportunity to focus on the one you love. The Valentine’s Day gift can be a difficult one to figure out, but remember, it is about the people you are with and the experiences you share so gifts can come in a variety of ways!

One of the things I love about JL is that he is flexible and enjoys adventure. This makes gift giving fun for us because we can dive deeper into the gift category and give each other unique gifts that may include experiences, or traveling. I love changing things up, giving him presents he might not be expecting. For example, we try to go on one big vacation a year so I might splurge on an activity for the trip, or even just put money in the bank. We also like to try unique date night ideas, so we might try a cooking class as our gift to each other. I would LOVE to go skydiving because what else says love like “will you please jump out of a plane with me?” When coming up with a gift for your loved one, thing out side of the box! Try making their favorite meal instead of taking them to a restaurant. Or maybe, help them relax at the spa with an unexpected spa retreat. And hey, there are always the adventurous dates like skydiving!
