A few weeks ago, you probably saw on social media, that Darian and I ventured west for a bit. We flew into Las Vegas then drove up through parts of Arizona and Utah, making a pit stop in a small town called Moab. Now, you may be familiar with this little town due to its popular hiking trails and national parks. I, on the other hand, was slightly new to this area and was not really sure what to expect upon my arrival.
Thankfully, I was blown away. Moab was a small town full of life. It’s sky lit up with a thousand colors at sunset and the scenery was magical. So you might be wondering why I decided to stop in Moab without much knowledge of the town? Y’all know I do crazy things…but this one was well worth it. Moab came on my radar because of a place I wanted to stay called Under Canvas. This little spot was glamping at its finest and I would have stayed for days if I had the time.
Nestled just a few minutes out side of “town”, Under Canvas was my literal DREAM when it comes to camping. How many of you REALLY think I would choose to spend a vacation camping? (I’m envisioning zero hands raised.) Don’t get me wrong, I love nature and I love being outdoors, but I also love a comfortable bed and WIFI…am I right? So…let’s talk GLAMPING. With the amenities of a popular resort and the feel of a campsite, Under Canvas is exactly where I want to be when it comes to the idea of camping. It truly is the perfect mix of rustic/outdoors and boutique hotel. Just a short drive from town, this beautiful site is also located just a few minutes from Arches National Park, so if hiking is your thing then this is the place for you!
During our stay at Under Canvas, we were able to make camp in one of their deluxe tents (they have teepees available also!). Now again, when I heard “deluxe tent” the only thing my ears heard was “tent.” But no…it was truly deluxe. With a king size bed (preach!), a sink, pull shower AND toilet, fresh towels and chic decor, this space looked nothing like what came to my mind when booking. It was beautiful! And so incredibly photogenic…I was in heaven.
As you can see in some of these images, the view from our tent was pretty incredible. It was endless views of Utah terrain, with a sunrise and sunset that took my breath away. When I wasn’t lounging on our front porch (yes the front porch of OUR TENT), Under Canvas also had plenty of other helpful amenities if needed. Just a short walk from our tent, the “lobby” sat in the middle of the grounds. This space was also a tent, but larger than the rooms surrounding it, and it was BEAUTIFUL. With tea and coffee available, the lobby was a great place to take a break and relax. They even offered live music and s’mores by the fire the first night we were there!
The staff at Under Canvas was BEYOND helpful during our entire stay. From the welcome, to our goodbyes, they were exactly what you would expect from a high end resort. Once we arrived, they gave us the run down of the area, as well how to work/manage our tent. They had people on call at all hours of the day and even arranged breakfast for us! All we had to do was place our order the night before then it was ready for pick up the next day…so convenient!
Our stay at Under Canvas was truly one I will never forget and I am already planning another adventure with Jon Luke! What is great about Under Canvas is that they have locations all over the country, including, The Grand Canyon, Moab, Yellowstone, Glacier, Zion, The Great Smokey Mountains and Mount Rushmore. I am thinking I am going to have to hit up some other spots because now I am definitely not afraid to do a little camping, if you know what I mean!
