As I am adjusting to the growing baby bump, I have also had to adjust my wardrobe slightly. Most of my pants do not fit any more and certain skirts are even difficult to get in to. As I try things on, I have found a few items that I think will be the items needed to get me through this change, so I have learned that I will need to make the most of those. What I do love about this though is that it has created a little game for me to see how many different ways I can style one piece…so here is round one.
I have discovered that satin midi skirts hug the bump nicely. This is convenient because I definitely have a few to work with, but this black one in particular is a go-to. Before the bump, I wore this skirt often, so I have taken most of those previous looks and made them bump friendly. It is easy to pair this skirt with a graphic tee and sneakers, heels and a blazer, or even a long coat but for now I stuck to my basic white tee.
For the first look, I wanted to dress up the tee and satin skirt to create a look for the office or even a nice date night. This plaid over-sized blazer pairs so well with this skirt and, in my opinion, dresses it up. Here, I threw on a strappy black heel to complete the look, but you can bet there were sneakers ready to go in my car. That is what I love about this look. Just by changing the shoes I can go from day to night!
For the second look, I am wearing the same satin skirt and white tee, but I took a more casual approach. Here I chose my sneakers and denim jacket to create a more laid back vibe, then added a hat for a little extra flare. All staple items in my closet, these items pair perfectly together and create an easy go-to look when I can’t decide what to wear!
These two looks will be just a start to the many “how many ways can I style one item” phase but I thought they were both good to share. Since I shot these images, I have created even more looks with this black skirt so maybe I will work on a post with ALL of the ways I style this skirt….what do you think? If enough people want it, then I promise I will bring it your way soon. For now though, enjoy these two looks and I hope you find enough inspo in them to create them on your own!
