GIRL BOSS. We have all heard the term. Some might be annoyed by it, some probably have a coffee mug or two with these words in bold letters. It is definitely a common thing in today’s society. But how do you truly define the term? Is it simply for those who are literal bosses? Women who run their own companies and manage a staff of people who work FOR them? Or do you apply the term to your best friend who you pretty much think is just the coolest person on the planet? Well, I think it can go either way. Let me talk to my girl bosses out there for a minute (yep, that means you).
Why limit the idea of being a “boss” to the working woman? I met someone the other day who made the comment, “I wish I could be a GIRL BOSS like you.” And I couldn’t help but chuckle and say, “But you are a boss!” After I said these words, her response broke me a little bit inside when she told me that she was just ordinary. No honey. You are far more than ordinary.
Each of us have been put on this earth for a reason. WE have a purpose. Men, women, the old and the young. No matter where you work, or go to school, or travel, YOU are interacting with people. YOU have the ability to touch lives. YOU have the ability to dream! So do it! Do not be afraid to share your ideas or ask for help. Even the smallest dream can become something huge and you have the ability to take it there. But you cannot be afraid it. Do not be afraid to take it to the next level because you are simply “ordinary.” Being ordinary is for the birds in my opinion. Be extraordinary. Be YOU.
So to sum up my thoughts, I think you are great. No matter who you are. You cannot let the world define you. You are worthy to dream those dreams and you are more than worthy to live them out. You are strong, you are beautiful and you are unique. Remember, we all have moments when we need to be reminded of our potential. So here I am…just thought I would let you know that I think you can do it. No matter what your dream is, you can make it happen. YOU are a GIRL BOSS.
