Work Day

Remember that college class where you had to learn how to speak and dress for an interview?  Maybe that was not a normal thing at other schools, but I remember it being driven in to us at Auburn.  And I am super thankful it was because I have now survived multiple interviews in the real world.  It can definitely be an intimidating thing trying to figure out how to impress your potential employer, then once you get the job it can even be stressful trying to maintain that positive image.  In the work place I do my best to remember my old high school dress code rules and what was, and was not, allowed.  Most importantly I ask myself, would my grandma like what I am wearing?  I mean, that’s the ultimate test.

I love black and white together.  For work, or for play, this classic color combination wins my heart every time.  Another classic look that always draws me in is a blazer.  I have a wide variety of blazers (different colors and styles) that allow me to dress up my look.  Whether I am pairing it with flare denim or a pencil skirt, a blazer helps keep things classy.  This blazer in particular is great because I love the belted detail.  The piping provides the perfect amount of contrast and makes the collar and buttons stand out, which is also something I love.  I mean, let’s be honest…the work day can be extremely long.  Because that five o’clock hour may seem like it is days away, it is important to be comfortable and feel good in what I am wearing.  Dress to impress…but be comfortable in the process.
