Let’s Talk NIL

In July 2021, state legislation (in most states) and NCAA guidance was passed allowing student-athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness. Previously prohibited from promoting themselves for any kind of compensation, student-athletes across the nation became micro and macro influencers overnight. In a world where social media drives much of what we purchase, where we travel, what we eat (and the list goes on) many of these individuals began to capitalize, not only on these platforms, but on who they are as student-athletes.

And this is where my two worlds collided…college sports and influencer marketing. After spending years in the influencer/social media world, I was able to take what I had learned through my blog, Gracefully Taylored, and now apply it to creating education for all of the individuals now pursuing NIL opportunities. I could not have asked for a better combination and have truly found my purpose in this space.

College athletics and the NIL era is ever-changing but it has been quite the ride so far. I am incredibly proud of the opportunities our student-athletes have seen and it is incredible to be a part of such a major shift in the industry. It is just the beginning so stay tuned to learn more about this evolving space!
